The Planning Fractal is the sequel to Planning as Narrative and, therefore, extends its cubist view on planning units of work to planning lessons within a sound conceptual framework that revisits traditional methodological procedures and proposes new didactic templates.
The Planning Fractal seeks to integrate planning at various levels: annual plans, plans for the unit of work and lesson plans. It does so by developing a central metaphor based on analogies between planning, fractals and narrative, and by describing and analyzing examples generated during teaching practice at Teacher Training College, mainly for state secondary schools as well as for primary schools in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Planning Fractal is a book for teacher education which goes beyond Teacher Training College to include all those in-service teachers who wish to continue thinking about how to plan their work at secondary and primary school as well as at other levels of education and learning contexts. These teachers will also find in this book renewed ideas, guidance and reflection tasks for their planning.
